Outgoing Students

Study abroad

Internationality, within Europe and globally, is both context and requirement of the hdpk’s development of courses and collaboration projects.

International programmes such as ERASMUS and PROMOS are offering students an opportunity to spend a semester in a traineeship position abroad.

The EU Commission issues ERASMUS University Charters (EUC), which demonstrate that a university has fulfilled all the requirements necessary for successful participation in the ERASMUS programme.

The hdpk’s EUC number is 263078-IC-1-2013-1-DE-ERASMUS-EUCX-1. You can view the hdpk’s EUC here.

It is also possible to spend a semester following a course of study at another university abroad. The International Office will offer you support with both choosing a suitable university and arranging subsequent recognition of your studies there. In coming years, bilateral collaboration arrangements will further streamline this procedure.

A traineeship semester abroad will count as 30 Credit Points (CP)/30 ECTS Points. This assumes that the traineeship constitutes the equivalent of a 900-hour (= 30 ECTS) academic semester – calculated from an average total duration of 24 x 37.5-hour weeks. This will be specified in a Training Agreement before the traineeship begins, and at completion will be confirmed in a Training Certificate.

For a semester spent studying abroad, the workload should amount to 30 Credit Points (CP)/30 ECTS Points. This will be specified in a Learning Agreement before the relevant semester begins, and upon return to the hdpk will need to be evidenced by the appropriate transcripts of records. Both the Learning Agreement and the transcript of records will be reviewed and authorised by the course director.

International Student Identity Card (ISIC)

hdpk students are eligible for an International Student Identity Card. The ISIC is recognised across the world and can be used to obtain numerous discounts abroad. Full information is available here.

An ISIC costs €16.50 (including delivery) and can be applied for at the International Office. Please fill out this application form in advance.
