How to manage support for music artists in Berlin

Musicboard’s Lisa-Marie Jahnke visits hdpk to talk about communications

Creative Industries Management at hdpk has an emphasis on music management. Amongst hdpk’s connections into the Berlin scene is Musicboard. Musicboard Berlin aims at strengthening the local pop music scene by supporting projects of national and international scope which are able to enlarge the visibility of Berlin as a centre of artistic productivity.

Lisa-Marie Jahnke has visited the seminar Public Relations with Prof. Dr. Biehl to discuss questions relating to stakeholder communication. Students learned about challenges to feed social media channels along with administering a range of support programmes and events. From this talk, the idea emerged to continue cooperation in a practical project in which students developed further ideas on how to send out messages and in which form.

In a creative seminar project, a group of Creative Industries Management students in a team with peers from design academy worked on concepts that can be used on social media with visuals to communicate their message to a broad range of musical artists.

This is an example of interdisciplinary learning with students in the same seminar from SRH’s Berlin schools hdpk and design academy. With the programme “Customize your Studies”, students can regularly choose to attend seminars at either hdpk, design academy or SRH Hochschule Ernst Reuter Platz (business school) to widen their network.
